According to Websters Online Dictionary, advertising can be defined as the act or practice of calling public attention to one's product, service, need, etc., especially by paid announcements in newspapers and magazines, over radio or television, on billboards, where the seller attempts to make potential buyers aware of their product or service. Advertising is frequently regarded of as paid messages communicated through the various media by industry, business firms, nonprofit organizations, or individuals. It can be said that advertising has an immense impact on potential buyers, as those buyers often are persuaded into purchasing a certain product or service on the basis of advertisements they have witnessed. Advertising acts to persuade and inform consumers and is intended to manipulate the purchasing behavior as well as thought patterns of the viewers.
