This issue of censorship is one that continues to promulgate considerable public debate. While some individuals believe that social and government institutions have an obligation to protect the general public from materials that may be harmful or offensive, other individuals firmly believe that the First Amendment to the Constitution allows for a full freedom of expression that should not be mitigated by any third party.
