Abstract
amazon.com is one of the first start-ups to appear around the end of 90's. Following the example of Microsoft or Apple, the appearance of amazon became a myth, the famous American success story. The founder of the company is Jeff Bezos, a Princeton University graduate. Jeff Bezos was the senior Vice-President of D.E. Shaw, a Wall Street investment bank. Its on foreseeing the statistic on the programmed evolution of the internet sector, that an urge to create a company on e-commerce came to him. Indeed, the internet growth forecasts were +2 300%. Without experience, or in-depth knowledge of the internet, he took advantage of the loophole. Initially, Jeff Bezos chose to specialize in selling books. The added value of selling books on the net seemed obvious: "There are more than 3 million books available and under print in the world. Thus, it becomes very relevant to use computers to record, sort, search and organize this huge choice. Then, through this, the customer will have an unrivaled choice on the site".
