Abstract
A lifting hook is a device for grabbing and lifting loads by means of a device such as a hoist or crane. A crane is a mechanical lifting device equipped with a winder, wire ropes and sheaves that can be used both to lift materials and to move them from one place to another horizontally, it creates mechanical advantage and thus move loads beyond the normal capability of a human. This paper deals with the design of hook block assembly, its mathematical model with the help of software pro-e and FEA analysis of hook with the help of software pro-mechenica. Finite element analysis (FEA) is a method for numerical solution of field problems. Comparison of max induced stress which is found from design manually and with the pro-mechanica is carried out..
