Abstract
women are the reproductive unit and the child is primarily grown up with proper care in their lap. They look after the household course. They are the earning member in a number of families. Despite of these most in cases the women have to face several problems inside and outside of the families. Even strong gender discrimination lies between male and female and it is well prevalent in Indian society too. Here the women are socially, economically, politically, educationally enjoys a very lower status and often being violated in several context. Gradually it has become rather a cultural acceptance. But it is very much essential to obsolete these discrimination's for the overall development of the society. In this regard to uplift the women status government has taken the initiatives through gender budgeting. Besides administrative initiatives of the government, the socio-cultural awareness is prime indispensable. The present discussion is an attempt to highlight on the aspects of women empowerment through socio-cultural perspectives along with governmental efforts and to find out the possible way to prevent gender discrimination.
