Abstract
Introduction
The proposed project for the marriott organization involves the development and implementation of virtual private networks as a central means for the organization to integrate all of the technological advances that have been put in place in the organization in the past several years. This technology change was recommended because of marriott's reliance on wireless networks to improve efficiency in the organization (Wolff, 2004). Even though wireless networks facilitate business in the organization, researchers have noted the vulnerabilities of these systems (Breeding, 2005). In an effort to address these vulnerabilities, virtual private networks or VPNs were recommended because of their safety and security features. While the process of developing and implementing virtual private networks does not appear to promulgate considerable technological strain for the organization, it is evident that ensuring employee compliance with the change may be a difficult process. With this in mind, this investigation considers the five change models examined in previous work-including reasoned action, social cognitive theory, Lewin's three step change theory, health belief model and the transtheoretical model of change.
