The concept of communication can be defined as the activity of conveying meaningful information. Communication required a sender, content (message) and a receiver. However, the message can have different meanings depending on the time, the place and the person involved in the communication. Thus, we have to be really careful on which word or expression to use when we are speaking with a foreigner. In the globalized world we live in today, what Rudyard Kipling said- “East is East, West is West, and never twain shall meet”- proved to be incorrect. We have to know each other, while learning from one another. To do so, people have to learn how to understand each other. Many people think that by just being aware on what is happening in the world, they can understand different culture and communicate effectively. Media and news are far from good enough to be able to understand what’s going on in the rest of the world.
