Abstract
The image comparison uses image-filtering techniques to ignore minor differences that are expectable and acceptable between two implementations. The tool presented is a reliable tool in detecting faults in output images and performs in this task far better than prior image comparison techniques.
An algorithm that compares two images to determine some measure for their similarity is a powerful tool. Applications that could benefit from such comparisons include finger print databases, face recognition, media databases, and testing of graphics software, to name a few. Each application has its own special needs affecting the algorithms used.
