Abstract
In 2002, Christophe Girard, deputy major in charge of the culture suggested to Bertrand Delanoe, mayor of paris, to create an artistic course devoted to the contemporary art for a whole night in paris. It was imagined by Jean Blaise, the creator of the festival 'The lit '('switched on ") in Nantes. 'nuit blanche' offers to the Parisians a rediscovery of their own city through prestigious places, others abandoned, presented under an unusual angle, or a particular lighting. It is a major event for a limited duration, developed primarily to enhance the awareness, appeal and profitability of a tourist destination for a short and/or long term. Such events rely on their success, on uniqueness, or timely significance to create interest and attract attention'
