Abstract
In the early days of computing, data was numerical. Later, textual data became more common. Today, we see many other forms of data: voice, music, speech, images, computer graphics, etc. Although such data has been in use for a long time, their use is becoming increasingly prevalent due to increasing processor speed, memory capacity and disk capacity, and network bandwidth and connectivity. Along with the increasing use of such forms of data is an increased interest in how to acquire, store, transmit display, enhance, and restore them [1]. With the advent of the Internet, it has become possible to transmit data further and faster than ever before. Text, data, sounds, images and video clips are often grouped together for transmission or storage purposes.
