Work related stress is become an increasing problem in the current world. The new ways of conducting business (globalization, strategic alliances, advanced information technology) contribute greatly to the increased level of uncertainty and stress in all types of organizations. Considering the present trends, there is no doubt that stress in workplace will become one of the most urgent and challenging problems of 21st century that both managers and regular employees will need to face. The aim of this report is to carry out a detailed analysis concerning optimal level of work related stress. The authors will try to answer the question whether stress in workplace can be viewed as a positive value. In the first part of the report basic workplace stress characteristics will be presented. Then different approaches towards the existence of work ? related stress and its optimal level will be highlighted.
