Abstract
The existence of vast pool of skilled labor in traditional division of labor in agrarian economies in India particularly among backward communities has provided impetus to growth of micro-enterprises in rural India.
The collapse of agrarian economic relations in colonial and post colonial periods of centralized planning has led to collapse of socio-economic relations and generates socio-political conflicts in India and led to large scale unemployment, poverty and migration. growth of urban informal sectors in large urban centers led to increasing migration and over urbanization situation leaving the vast rural regions backward and human and natural resources underutilized. The micro-financing policies along with infrastructural development and privatization policies could provide functional and spatial restructuring of micro-enterprises.
