The Future Focus Limited Company

Future Focus Limited offers an opportunity to students from all over the world to develop their language skills and do an internship extending from a month to half a year. The company has a diverse work atmosphere and is present in many work areas such as the management of travel agencies and tourism, advertising and public relations, sales management and marketing, and supervision of children. The company also offers courses in English, French and German with seven different levels of education (elementary, junior, intermediate, etc). All these services are offered on its own premises.

My internship was not for a specific service per se, but, it was focused on a particular task: exploration. I was placed as the in charge of the company's computer room, and this allowed me to truly explore this domain; it provided me the opportunity that I needed for future endeavors. I would like to discuss the term "Improvised service" in this document, as part of my study.

Future Focus Limited is located in Malta and attracts students not only from Malta, but also from other European countries, both within and outside the European Union. Students come to acquire an internationally recognized qualification, and also with the goal of improving their proficiency in English and attaining a diploma and other related certificates, after reaching the required level and passing the final exam.

Malta is a very small island (only 316km ²); Future Focus is the only company on the island to offer its advice to SMEs and paid internships. However, with regard to language courses, it competes strongly with three schools specialized in English classes: EF, ESL and RU. They enjoy worldwide reputation with regard to their services. There are also other schools admittedly small, but much in number (about 50 on the island).

The company has many partners in many countries, and is a subsidiary of Cambridge University which also prepares students for exams at the university. It also has partners in Germany, France, Italy and Spain.

Geographic Location: Malta is located about 1600km from France, in Southern Europe, in Italy and in the open Mediterranean. Each year more than 100,000 students choose Malta as the destination to enhance their English proficiency owing to the fact that this island is an erstwhile British colony and English is the most commonly spoken language.

All Maltese speak English and some speak Italian, French and German in addition to their native Maltese. The warmth and welcoming nature of the inhabitants of Malta make it the ideal venue to develop and practice English.

Malta is one of the richest countries in terms of historical sites. It boasts 5000 years of history. Here students can explore the history and culture of an island located in the heart of the Mediterranean. Strategically located between two continents, Malta has played an important role in the history of the region.Nevertheless, the small population remains a weakness for her, with only 400,000 inhabitants.
