My friend and Emerson College classmate NAME informed me that you are hiring temporary proofreaders for the summer. I have over three years’ experience working in editorial, and I hope you find I have the necessary experience for this position.
I copyedited for a Massachusetts law-book publisher and for a St. Paul-based newspaper publisher. And as the nonfiction editor of Minneapolis-based Spout magazine for over two years, I was responsible for numerous duties from soliciting and reading manuscripts to layout and proofreading.
