Abstract
corba (Common Object Request Broker Architecture) added great values to Distributed computing by providing RPC architecture. This corba is based on Object Model developed by OMG itself. This architecture supports object oriented languages like C++, JAVA, Small Talk, Ada, COBOL etc. i.e. applications developed into these languages can be interfaced with each other using corba. corba is a collection of standards that provide inter operation: generally between processes, often running on different machines. A corba object is defined using Interface Definition Language (IDL) which has object orientated syntax, and only defines the methods one can act on a particular object. An Object Request Broker (ORB) is required which are available from commercial and free software sources to use corba.
