The firm that has been selected is the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company. The purpose of this paper is to identify the best value discipline, generic strategy and grand strategy for Goodyear; as well as provide insight into the combination of strategies the organization should implement.

Goodyear’s business is a rather complex mixture of tire manufacturing, raw material manufacturing and certain rubber products. The footprint of this business covers the globe and can be impacted by many different acute variables that could change the face of policy and bring forth different challenges and threats. The nature of this paper must take into account the market, the competition, and the most beneficial positioning in the given market.

Value Discipline: There are three very common value disciplines that must be explained but as this paper will display there is only one ideal value discipline for Goodyear to pursue.
