Scholars examining the process of change have noted that regardless of the environment in which change takes place this process is often difficult to successfully navigate. With this in mind, researchers have begun examining the process of change and how it occurs in the organization. Through this research, managers and leaders have been able to identify key mechanisms that can be utilized to facilitate the process of change in the organization. The resultant change theories which have been developed through this discourse have been applied in a wide range of settings. At the present time, educational leaders are now investigating the specific change theories that can be utilized for the successful development of the school organization.
