Abstract

Corporate social responsibility or CSR has become an imperative for modern organizations. Although companies are expected to develop and implement formal policies that ensure that they are contributing to the communities in which they operate, the development and proliferation of globalization has made this process more difficult. As the national community becomes a smaller part of an international community, organizations must consider how their operations impact a much larger audience. This can make the implementation of corporate social responsibility programs a much broader and complex task overall.Given the importance of corporate social responsibility to the development of the organization, the process of globalization cannot go without some consideration for operations. Using this as a basis for investigation, this research examines the impact of globalization on the aviation industry. In particular, the impact of globalization on creating programs for corporate social responsibility is addressed. Through a careful consideration of what has been noted on this subject, it will be possible to demonstrate some of the challenges that exist when it comes to creating corporate social responsibility programs in the aviation industry while still addressing concerns of globalization.
