Abstract
Twenty years ago a day of shopping meant going to one store for groceries, another store for clothes, and still another store for prescriptions. Today a day of shopping can be done with one door and one trip. wal-mart has changed the way Americans and other countries do their daily shopping. Giving the lowest prices they can, wal-mart is the largest corporation in the world. This paper is going to describe how wal-mart started in Bentonville, Arkansas from the owner Sam Walton motivation for the store, how the corporation has effected the United States economy, how other corporations have had to change to be able to keep up with wal-mart, and how wal-mart's employees are treated. Sam Walton came up with a question wondering if people were willing to drive a couple miles out of town to buy items that were cheaper then the store's that were in town. And the answer was yes.
