section Summary

Grid connection of wind energy sources is essential if they are to be effectively exploited, but grid connection brings a number of problems. In the paper, Distributed Generation and Wind Power integration problems are discussed. Many early wind turbines utilized a squirrel-cage or wound-rotor induction generator to produce electricity. However, they absorbed large amounts of reactive power and sometimes caused severe voltage stability problems on the grid. This paper includes introduction of different wind turbine technologies and its effect on power system, at last we summarized with wind power impact on power system operating cost. Human beings have become adapted to the conveniences and extensive use of electrical power for over a century. In an effort to meet this high demand for electric power, mankind has implemented several methods of electric power generation. Keywords: wind energy, power system, induction generator, integration issues
